course load

i think my course load is surprisingly managable this quarter. most people work less than i think i do, but its not bad stuff. its interesting or at least informative. and math is very attention intense, so its easier to get through than doing hundreds of mindless problems probably would be. so its challenging, but i like it. for my two writing/reading classes, one of them i like the reading but not the discussions, and in the other, the readings are ok (about to get better) and the discussions are fantastic. i really enjoy that class. and i can get through the reading by picking out interesting things to point out in class. :D well, i have math in 15 minutes. fun stuff.

college is fun

so i havent blogged since classes started last week, and i thought now was a good time to do a quick update. i am taking 4 classes. they are 2 reading/writing classes, chemistry, and calculus. i love one of the r/w classes (socs) i like chemistry, math is interesting, but very hard, and i hate the other r/w (hume). but im hoping that as i get into the school system i will like the classes more and get into the swing of it so it isnt so hard.

my roommate and suitemates are totally awesome. we have a social dorm room, a lot of people come here to chill, it doesnt create the best work environment, but there are other places to go to work and it makes it nice to just come back to my room for a break. there are almost always people around. im making a lot of friends with people in my house, i dont know many people not in my dorm yet. i need to get to know people in my classes i guess. but its really cool that im getting to know people and so many people are really nice. and we all need each other.. which is pretty obvious when we get together to talk or cry or just get a hug.

ive been getting to see aaron as well. it is really nice, we've gotten together maybe 4 or 5 times for lunch or dinner or something and ive gone over to his apt to watch tv with him and his roommates. i dont think we need to worry about me having extra meal points..aaron is handling that one :D . its really nice to have him around though. he helps me with my math and i give him food.

ive come to the conclusion that i really like communal living. the thing about everyone being nice is a big plus on that account. but we have devised ways to keep our doors open and it is so nice to just walk down the hall and encounter lots of people instead of having to call someone up to get together or something. i am also surprised at how email dependant everyone is. if you dont check your email at least 3 times a day, something is wrong with you. i check between 3-5 times and i always have mail! i dont know how i get so much, but its incredible. i dont see how anyone could get by without having access to a computer. its gotten to the point where i dont give out my phone number, i give out my email address. but i love it, its a good way of communicating, as long as your computer is working.

well, i should read some of the illiad before i go to a lab study im doing this afternoon. i have to read and wiggle my fingers for 2 hours and i get $25! not bad, eh?
